“Ofir Ronit Engel” charismatic songstress, multilingual singer captivating dancer, actress and vibrant poet. Original in style, passionate in performance. Israeli born, Ofir Ronit Engel came from the small City of Nahariya in 2004.
At the tender age of 7 Ofir was on her way to success winning a National Cartooning Competition, acting in plays, theater and performing in the School Band. At age 12 she sang “Lu Yehee” in the Schools High Holiday Ceremony, which is an Israeli ballad mean, whatever you wish for will come! Not only her Mother, but the audience was mesmerized by her voice as Ofir delivered the song. At that point all who heard that Ofir Ronit Engel had talent.
During the 90's Ofir spent a few years in New York City. She studied Professional acting at the Actors Studio and William Asper School of the Arts. Ofir had other training to develop her speech, vocals and dance. While in New York City, Ofir landed a few small roles and developed her own original sense of acting. Some of her acting credits while in New York are: James Grays, The Yards; Sex and The City; Creator/Screenwriter/Producer/Star Performer in The Unfortuneteller, a sitcom funny comedy aired on MNN. It was that show which created a buzz to land Ofir a gig as CO-Host of two TV Shows. She spent her time interviewing some of the biggest names in show-biz. Including Hutch from Starsky and Hutch, first playboy girl, DR who.
Ofir worked on TV shows and a few films. She had the honor of working with the Israeli French Director Amos Gitai. Ofir landed an acting role on Amos Gitai’s movie “Haalila," Ofir also sang at the infamous celebrity club called “Stage” in Tel Aviv. She has a record number of successes in Song writing Competitions. On top of all her acting and singing abilities.
Ofir is a force to be reckoned, with successes in performances in acting, her roles on television, radio, film, stage and singing. Asked to explain her multitalented persona, Ofir says, “I am into the vibe of the universe, I view life as a magical journey which allows me to create great moments, to touch hearts and to explore who we are.”
Her music can only be described as dramatic world Dance with theatrical sense, edgy, real, deep, with intellectual content, poetic lyrics with a bit of a futuristic slant.
Since her move to Canada in 2004 Ofir has already won International acclaim as a Songwriter. The Passion Show was a finalist in the Pop and Dance Category at the Song of the Year Competition and the UK Song writing Contest. These two international contests are judged by a jury of Grammy Award winners like André Fisher, 40 Platinum/25 Gold albums, 3 Grammy Awards; Wayne Watson and more.
2005 was her first attempt to produce a CD that left her devastated dealing with local producer who promised but never deliver even with his signature on the contract.
At 2006 Ofir released her first CD she produced on her own called “Poetry of the Brilliant Silence” followed her success in Poetry writing contest since 2003 awarded by the International Society of Poets.
Starting from scratch and having a never give up attitude, Ofir produced her own dream CD now just released August 2007 her first Dance/Pop Music CD titled "The Passion Show," her own original songs under her own Record Label, "Passion Show Records," her music CD including “Outrageous” which captured semifinal honors. In June 2006 her song “It’s Awesome” achieved Impressive Song writers Award, the hit The Passion Show that won the award at 2004 and more. Ronit’s name comes from the Hebrew word ranan, meaning song or joy!
